TYPE A TERMINAL STRAPS
Electrical Connectors: Held in place by stainless steel spring clamps, braided aluminum terminal straps in 25, 50, 100, and 200 amperage ratings are available:
Single Loop (A Type) - for connecting binding post to SIC TECH®.
TYPE B TERMINAL STRAPS
Electrical Connectors: Held in place by stainless steel spring clamps, braided aluminum terminal straps in 25, 50, 100, and 200 amperage ratings are available:
Double Loop (B Type) - for connecting SIC TECH® to SIC TECH®.
TYPE C TERMINAL STRAPS
Electrical Connectors: Held in place by stainless steel spring clamps, braided aluminum terminal straps in 25, 50, 100, and 200 amperage ratings are available:
Post to Post (C Type) - for connecting binding post to binding post.
TYPE D TERMINAL CLAMPS
The "D" type clamp strap does not require an additional clamp. It is secured around the circumference of the Starbar by the use of a bolt. The strap connection must be flexible so that no physical stress is transmitted to the Starbars. Avoid using large gauge, heavy wire.
TYPE M TERMINAL STRAPS
The terminal clamps are used to hold the aluminum straps in compression around the circumference of the SIC TECH®. The aluminum strap and terminal clamp should be installed at the very end of the SIC TECH®.
The "M" type derives its name from its similarity to the letter M, and manual.
TYPE C TERMINAL STRAPS
The terminal clamps are used to hold the aluminum straps in compression around the circumference of the SIC TECH®. The aluminum strap and terminal clamp should be installed at the very end of the SIC TECH®.
The "T" type is used with an expansion tool, and is useful for installations where space is limited.
Ceramic Guide Sleeves
Ensure terminal holes in furnace walls are aligned and large enough to avoid pinching elements or guide sleeves at any temperature. Guide sleeves are recommended for SER elements and fiber wall furnaces to enhance electrical resistance, protect insulation, and ensure clearance. They prevent elements from sticking due to vapor condensation, reducing breakage risks from thermal expansion. For vapor issues, place ceramic fiber pads beneath cold ends and guide sleeves, and tuck ceramic fiber around the element's entry point to minimize heat loss.
STANDARD SIZES
Guide sleeves are available for Starbar diameters 1/2" (13 mm) through 2-1/8" (54 mm) in a standard length of 4-1/8" (105 mm) and for 2-3/4" (70 mm) Starbars in a standard length of 5.5" (139 mm). Longer lengths available upon request.
